2013年東京四ツ谷。

RYO、TEZU、TOMO。学生時代まで各々別々のバンドで活動をしていた3人は25年ぶりの再会をここで果たす。

誰から言い出したのかはもう覚えていないが、バンドの結成は自然な成り行きだった。

ボーカルとドラマーが加わり、往年のハードロックの名曲を持ち寄ってはスタジオで心ゆくまで演り続けた。

社会人生活の傍で何かに真剣に打ち込むのは意外に困難を伴うものだ。

転勤、転職、体力の限界。人生の転機が訪れる度にメンバーが去ってゆき、振り出しに戻されたが、ようやくメンバーも定着し、バンドのオリジナリティも形取られて行った。

2017年暮、初の自作曲「トライアンファント」完成。翌年には世界最大のアマチュアバンドの祭典「エマージェンザ」に参戦し準決勝進出を果たす。

その後も幾度かメンバー交代を余儀無くされるも、バンドの楽曲は着実に増え、いよいよ積極的なライブ活動への意欲も湧いてきた。

音楽の好み、人生の歩み、指向性もバラバラの5人が織りなす不思議な化学反応。

全員1960年代生まれ、遅咲きのハードロッカー、どことなく懐かしくも新しい感覚の王道ハードロックを愚直に奏で続ける気鋭のおっさんバンド、それがスリースレッズ。これぞスリースレッズ。

Three guys who rivaled in different rock bands back in the days, made a reunion after over 25 years of silence.

No one remembers who first started this idea, but restarting a band was a natural thing.

Soon teamed up with a singer and a drummer, they played whatever the 70s and 80s classic hard rock they loved over and over again and again...

However, maintaining momentum as a bandman while making your life as a business person is way difficult than it seems.

Change of workplace, changing jobs, physical limitations. Every change in life stage put them back to square one forcing them to start over again, until the band gradually build up their characteristics and set tonality to their music.

By the time "The Triumphant", their first original song was created in 2017, they were ready to step up to the next stage to challenge for the world class amateur band competition "Emergenza" to move up to the 2018 Japan Semi-finalist at their first attempt.

In spite of facing further member replacements, they relentlessly grew their play list and slowly but surely built their motivation to go up on stage and play in public.

5 different talents, 5 different life stories, 5 different musical preferences, with one strong passion, altogether brought an unique chemical reaction to the band.

60's born outdated Hard rockers now united delivering a brand new but somewhat familiar taste to a straight forward hard rock sound -- this is the belated old chaps band "THREE THREADS". 

The one and only.

KANE（ケイン）: Vocal

Born in Derry Northern Ireland in 1962.

Famous for being a city of singers - As his father was an accomplished formally trained first tenor and toured all around Europe, he started piano from the age of 7, taught him ear training and would push and encourage him to pick out tunes on the piano since.

He got the singing bug and was cast as lead role in primary school show “The Gypsy Rover”.

(If he ever writes an autobiography it will be called this.)

Father and son - loved to watch old Hollywood musicals together as his roots were a song and dance/piano man, hugely influenced by the various talents from the musical scene back then, such as - Singing In the Rain - Gene Kelly, Jimmy Cagney, Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Doris Day, and many more.

He taught him that he needs to move -preform, put on a show , learn about dress sense. (His father was also a tailor)

Then came the 70’s with him already singing the Beatles songs and watching their movie “Help”, it was already in his blood to sing and he didn’t realize till later in the early 80’s when he picked up an acoustic guitar and started to write songs of his own.

In 1989, he moved to England where he started his first band “Bedgellot” and continues to be connected with his band mates as long standing great friends to date.

Soon after moving to Kansai Japan in 1998, he joined several local bands as a vocalist in various styles until he formed “Trouble Tribe Japan” and made a great leap to get the band signed to a record company.

Little over a decade with TTJ, he decided to leave the band while having his passion and endeavours were always centered to sing and perform in a rock band.

In 2017, he was contacted by TOMO and found THREE THREADS as his next new thing.

As of today, he travels back and forth for THREE THREADS’ performances in Tokyo from his home town in Kansai.

1962年、多くの歌手を輩出している北アイルランドはデリーに生まれる。欧州をツアーしていたテノール歌手の父親の影響で7歳からピアノを独学で始める。小学校時代にはその歌唱力が評価され、学校の演劇では主役に抜擢され歌と演技双方に磨きがかかり自信をつけてゆく。

親子でよくハリウッド演劇に没頭し、雨に唄えばで有名なジーン・ケリーを筆頭に、ジミー・キャグニー、フレッド・アステア、ジンジャー・ロジャース、ドリス・デイらに多大な影響を受け、やがて歌と踊りとピアノが彼のその後の人生を形作るルーツとなった。

表現者として、パフォーマンスやステージング、衣装（父親は洋服の仕立て屋でもあった）に至るまで独学で体得し、70年代にはビートルズの楽曲や映画に触れ自ずと歌手になることへの願望を募らせていた。80年代に入り願望はやがて具現化する。アコースティックギターを片手に自分で歌を書き始め、イギリスに拠点を求めた1989年には自身のバンドBedgellotを結成。当時のバンドメンバー達は長年の友として今でも交流が続いている。1998年に日本に移住してからは関西を拠点にいくつかのバンドを経てTrouble Tribe Japanを結成、異色のボーカリストとして世間の注目を集め、レコード会社との契約を取り付けるまでに至った。

2010年にバンド脱退後もバンド活動は常に原動力となり、会社勤めを続けながら数々のバンドで精力的にその歌唱力を磨いてきた。

音楽的にさらなる刺激を求め、2017年にTOMOの誘いでスリースレッズを知ることとなる。2019年現在、関西と東京を往復してバンド活動に専念している。

HIRO（ヒロ）：Guitar

Born in Tokyo in 1968.

At the age of 13, under the huge influence of his older brother, he got inspired and became familiar with fusion music and started playing guitar, admiring some of the greats - Masayoshi Takanaka and Kazumi Watanabe. The following year, he was blown away by Gary Moore's album "Corridors Of Power" which changed his life forever, and thus, since then devoted himself to play like Gary Moore.

Gary Moore's "full-picking" and shredding, sensitive vibrato arming techniques with a unique "weeping soulful crying tone" became the role model and solid foundation of his guitar style, whilst developing his sound and unique style with the combination of Hamer guitars and Gallien Kruger Amplifiers.

In the 90's, as Gary's style gradually switched to blues centric, he also naturally distanced himself from Hard Rock / Heavy Metal. Initially he always enjoyed and improved his skill sets by listening and playing to whatever genre of music that inspired him, not just HR/HM, but rather drawn by the mystery and freedom, he was very intrigued to learn from Jazz and Blues which required high improvisational skills.

This of course would prove essential later in life for composing not only chords in song writing but off the scale solos across the board of all possibilities, not just a copycat, but freely expressing with total original content, all the tools needed, literally at his fingertips - " Making music"

After graduating from university, he had not much chance to play in a band but simply enjoyed playing Gary Moore, Jeff Beck, Steve Stevens, and Kazumi Watanabe alone in his living room.

However, in November 2022, he finally couldn't help himself when he heard "THREE THREADS " rocking out in Shibuya with their "in-your-face" two guitars, raw hard rock and belting Irish vocalist from Gary's home country , after being invited by TEZU, an old friend from university days, who was seeking for a new guitar partner to fill RYO's (former guitar player) position as he left THREE THREADS in October that year.

The call of the rock for Hiro was irresistible.

13歳の頃、兄の影響でフュージョンミュージックを知り、高中正義、渡辺香津美に憧れギターを始める。翌年、ゲイリームーアのアルバム「corridors of power」が脳天を直撃、以後ゲイリームーア一筋のギター人生を歩む。

自身のプレイスタイルについてもその殆どがゲイリーのプレイを手本としており、フルピッキングの速弾き、繊細なアーミングビブラート、エモーショナルな泣きのギターを身上とする。ヘイマーのギター、ギャリエンクリューガーのアンプを好んで使用しているのも同様である。

90年代に入り、ゲイリーがブルースに転向するとともに自身もHR/HMから自然と遠ざかることとなる。もともとHR/HMに限らず、ジャンルを問わず好きなギタリストの楽曲、とりわけジャズやブルースなど即興性の高いものを好んでよく聴いた。

大学卒業後は主だったバンド・ライブ活動はしていないが、ギターはリビングに置いて常に弾き続けた。フェイバリットはゲイリームーア、ジェフベック、スティーヴスティーヴンス、渡辺香津美など。2022年11月、大学時代の盟友であるTEZUから誘いを受け、スリースレッズに加入。

TEZU（テズ）：Guitar

Born in Tokyo in 1968.

Hugely influenced by his elder brother, he threw away his toys and instead started playing guitar, and grew up to play in a band from 14.

In high school he first experienced to play in front of a small crowd and have played in various local bands where he started to grab attention of the audience as a true Hard rock guitar player.

Despite the relentless efforts poured into his passion to play at live shows since, he suddenly stopped playing as his band parted in 1993.

After two decades of silence, he restarted his career as one of the starting members of THREE THREADS from 2013 to date.

Bill Lawrence Stratocaster with his “Orca design” as his signature axe, he recently prefers playing the Washburn “Nuno Bettencourt” model and further exploits his new style.

1968年東京に生まれる、兄の影響で幼いころからギターを始め、14歳の時に初めてバンドを組む。

1985年には、同じ高校の仲間とバンドを結成し、初めて少数の観衆を前にライブでプレイした。これを契機に、同時に他のローカルバンドでも演奏経験を重ね、若く才気に満ちたギタープレーヤーとして認識されるようになる。

以降本格的な音楽活動に入り、精力的にライブ活動を行うが、1993年のバンド解散とともにギタリストとしての活動も休眠。

2013年、スリースレッズ結成とともに長年の沈黙を破り再び活動を再開。

使用するギターは、本人の特注色であるオルカペイントのビルローレンスのストラトキャスターが代表的だが、昨今はWashburn社製のヌーノベッテンコートモデルを主に使用している。

DANIEL（ダニエル）：Drums

Born in 1967 in Hiroshima and soon moved to Kunitachi, Tokyo. Started drums at High school and played in numerous Heavy Metal bands to fill his appetite for improvement.

However, that didn't last for long. By the time he graduated High School, he suddenly quits and threw away his drum set.

He never thought of playing the drums since, but after three decades, without a particular reason, he started to play around with his electric drum kit at home.

As his drumming skills come back to life, he realizes that he's longing to play live and loud in front of the audience again so he made a come-back.

After playing in several Rock bands, he finally joins THREE THREADS in June 2020. 

There are many aspirational and respectful drummers that he got influenced by which shapes his heavy drumming style with the twin bass drum phrases, creatively enhancing the powerful beats.

A very rare lefty drummer.

1967年広島県に生まれるが、すぐに東京国立市へ。東京で育つ。

高校に入るとすぐにドラムを叩き始め、3年間はドラムに明け暮れる。当時の国内外メタルを中心に、頼まれれば何でも叩いて腕を磨いた。しかしドラム熱は３年間ですっかりと冷め、その後何年もドラムキットに向かうことはなかった。

2010年、ふとしたきっかけで電子ドラムを購入。その後3年ぐらいは家で遊んでいたものの、高校当時のオーディエンスを前にした爆音での演奏体験を思い出し、再びシーンに戻ることを決意。

いくつかのバンドを渡り歩き、2020年6月、THREE THREADSに加入。

尊敬するプロドラマーは多いが特定の人はいない。自身はスピードよりヘヴィネスを重視し、要所でツーバスのコンビネーションやアクセントフレーズを得意とする。

数少ないレフティのドラマーである。

TOMO（トモ）：Bass

1969, Born in Tokyo. Spent his childhood in London, England and been blessed to have witnessed first hand the Punk rock. While living in the U.S. in the early 80s, got hugely influenced by the LA metal scene where his musical preference was developed.

Adding an unique characteristic to the band, TOMO relentlessly contributes to create a new style to old school hard rock with a Japanese twist. Command tower of the band.

1969年東京生まれ。幼少期をイギリスのロンドンで過ごし、パンクロック世代の洗礼を受ける。80年代初期にはLAメタル全盛期だったアメリカに移り多大な影響を受けガレージバンド活動に明け暮れる。帰国後もバンド活動を続け、作曲にとどまらず英詞も書き、日本発完全英詞のハードロックを銘に異彩を放つ。バンドの司令塔。
